San Antonio Express-News, El Paso Times endorse Obama

On the heels of this weekend’s primary and caucus sweep, Obama earned the endorsement of newspapers in two important markets — San Antonio (60% hispanic in city, 50% in metro) and El Paso (76% in city.) Both editorial endorsements accept Obama’s message of Hope and Unity as their basis:

Democratic Voter Turnout in 2008 Primaries Trumps Republican Turnout

In the 2004 Presidential election voter turn out in Texas favored the Republicans. 4,526,917 (Bush) Republican vs. 2,832,704 (Kerry) Democrats. Bush was favored by 1.6 times over Kerry. Obama picks up Mex-Am endorsement

State Rep. Pete Gallego, chairman of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus, has announced he is endorsing Barack Obama for president.
This may help Obama’s numbers with Latinos in Texas. Clinton had a sizeable advantage among that demographic in California.

Barack Obama has raised 6.5 million dollars in just over 24 hours since the polls closed on Super Tuesday..
Contrast this to the 5 million dollars the Clintons just had to loan their own campaign. Ouch
