Biases

In the name of transparency, I feel like we should disclose our author’s biases. Ian, Roy, and I are pulling for Obama to win the nomination. Michael is a strong Hillary supporter. I think I speak for all of us, though when I say that we’ll be supporting either one of these solid candidates in the general election this fall.

On the Republican side, I can’t decide which is worse - McCain’s “maverick” reputation (which he clearly no longer deserves), or Huckabee’s looniness (evolution is eeeeeevil!). It’s just too bad that Ron Paul has scaled down his campaign. That guy is a special brand of bat-shit crazy, and gave me a good laugh nearly every day.

Can you imagine four years of a Paul presidency? The stats would look something like this:

  • 267 bills passed
  • 265 bills vetoed as unconstitutional

Hell, I’m all for personal freedoms, restoration of habeus corpus, and and end to the war, but his “strict constitutionalist” beliefs would be a recipe for disaster.

Depending on how the democratic nomination is won, I might just vote No candidate.
