Hillary on the ground in El Paso
The first competitive Texas Presidential Primary in a generation slipped into high gear today as Clinton kicked off her Texas Campaign with a rally in El Paso today, pledging to “Sweep Across Texas” for the next 3 weeks. The first prong is a new Spanish ad, “Nuestra Amiga:”
Our voice and our vote will elect the next President of the great country.
Our candidate is Hillary Clinton because she respects our culture and understands the problems that affect our community.
Millions of Hispanic families live with the fear of not having health insurance.
The economic crisis and the cost of living are of concern to all of us.
Hillary is our friend and will help us.
Let’s vote for Hillary on March 4th and we will have a better life.
We are with you!
I’m Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.
With Obama’s recent string of high-margin victories in a diverse set of states, Hillary may have a tough fight on her hands to maintain her lead in Texas’ Latino population, which could provide the margin she needs on March 4th, particularly in light of Obama’s recent claim of turning the Latino vote in his favor 55-45 in Virginia and 53-47 in Maryland.
With the February primaries winding down, expect Texas to fire up in a big way as both candidates campaign heavily for the state’s 228 delegates. This is an exciting time to live in the state — we may be the deciding vote in this race.
